Christmas over, new year begining to be interesting

In June 2006 i was involved in a car accident, where i broke my right arm, i have not been able to do my patchwork for 7 months now, and have missed it terribly. however this time away from stitching has let me spend more time thinking about what i would like to make in the future, not just jumping into making new stuff all the time and not finishing it.

So i have decided to make a applique fairy to put into the 2008 or 2009 canberra quilters exhibition, time frame was chosen so i can recover from my arm injury first.

I will be heading to hospital to have pins and wires removed from my elbow, which i hope will ease some of the pain, letting me do small amount of stitching.

Christmas was interesting, we had 17 people having christmas lunch at our house, it was a good thing it was a cool day, as our airconditioning packed it in.

New years, i went to a friends bbq then came home just in time to see the fireworks on the tv.

All in all the last 7 months have been interesting, not needed to be done again this year.

Hope all have had a great christmas and new year, and you were all safe.

THinking about trying to finish off some UFO's this year also, i have a few. In my next post will count how many in total and reveal some of my oldest ones.

new purchases

I went to a fabric sale last friday, and went a little silly, here is a photo of my purchases. I have been trying to expand my stash so i have a good variety of different colours to use for applique and other projects.

I use to only purchase purple and pink fabric, i really got a lot of brown this time.

Getting organised for christmas, we are having 18 people for lunch christmas day, so hired plates, and glasses, and also tables and chairs, should be a good day.
